We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Cathy Coleman for an inspiring evening as she presents her new book, Ralph Metzner: Explorer of Consciousness. The Life and Legacy of a Psychedelic Pioneer. An engaging conversation on Ralph’s influence and contributions to the psychedelic field, and a unique opportunity to connect with fellow Santa Cruz Psychedelic Society members, fostering community and shared learning.
Dr. Coleman, Ralph Metzner's partner for over 30 years and former Dean of Students at the California Institute of Integral Studies, will share an intimate and insightful journey through Metzner’s groundbreaking work in consciousness exploration and psychedelics. With a distinguished career of her own, including leadership roles at Kepler College and the EarthRise Retreat Center, Cathy brings a deeply personal and professional perspective on Metzner’s impact and legacy.

Cathy Coleman, Ph.D
Cathy was Ralph Metzner’s wife of 31 years (1988-2019). She worked at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) as Director of Student Services and later Dean of Students when Ralph was Academic Dean and professor. Cathy later worked as Executive Director of EarthRise Retreat Center at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, as President of Kepler College (of Astrological Arts and Scienes), and with CIIS’ Center for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research. She was co-founder with Ralph Metzner, and is a current board member of the Green Earth Foundation. She is also a professional consulting astrologer.
