How can a Guided guided journey help me?

For many people a guided journey can be a unique opportunity to heal from deeply rooted traumatic wounds from the past, that carry into the present and limit us from living our lives fully and authentically. Sometimes we struggle with depressive states grieving our past. At others we can get caught in our heads worrying about the future. Despite our deepest intentions for healing through traditional methods, we find it difficult to let go and fully become present and live our lives in a more connected way.

When working with a guided journey we bring all of this to the table, all of our selves. We also invite an intention that traverses our physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual being. What is your heart’s deepest longing in this life?

The sacred medicines we work with allow us to find a path that integrates all of the different aspects of our lives into a coherent sense of self, so that we can make deep meaningful change and move towards our heart’s deepest desire.

Some folks call it 10 years worth of therapy in an afternoon. This main reason behind this is because guided journeys can open us to expanded states of consciousness that go beyond our usual way of understanding our lives and reality. This allows us to acknowledge and work with material that was previously unconscious to our everyday awareness. In this way we can learn and grow with unprecedented depth.

What does a Guided Journey Process look like?

Navigating expanded states of consciousness can be tricky, but with good set, setting and skill you can gain much benefit from exploring them. We can access these states on our own and there are many good ways to explore psychedelics through solo journeys or in recreational settings.

The uniqueness of doing a guided journey is that you will be accompanied and supported by people who have navigated these states themselves many times. They can help support you on preparing for your journey, overcoming common pitfalls and obstacles, as well as providing a safe container and encouraging you to go as deep as you choose. Sometimes that’ll come through conversation, while at others through diverse healing modalities that can integrate / pair well with journey work.

We like to build safe long term relationships with our clients. Many like to come once or twice a year to journey with us. Usually we’ll start by setting up 2-3 preparation sessions, where we focus on your physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual preparation. Journey days start in the morning, so as to minimize disturbance to your sleep cycle and maximize insights and benefits from the experience. These last anywhere from 3-12 hours depending on the type of journey. We’re here to support you through the whole process. After the journey we like to meet the following day to do a first integration session, check-in with you on the physical plane and also note together some of the insights, as usually it’s when they are freshest. We’ll then meet for the second integration a week later.

During the days and weeks after a journey there is a neuroplastic window which is a great time to make transformative changes in our lives. We like to meet during this period and sometimes step more into a coaching role, to encourage you to take the next steps along the path.

How did you become guides?

We both started with our own guided journeys, with mentors and groups, healing with many different medicines. Our work together began in 2017 when we trained as Mindfulness Based Psychedelic Guides through a program based in Boulder called Psychedelic Sitters School. We realized that we loved supporting people together and that we each had complimentary skills. Seba brings along Gestalt therapy, enneagram work, mindfulness practices and others from his background as a psychotherapist and engineer. Javi brings forward her deep connection with plant medicines, experience as a yoga teacher, in particular Ganja Yoga, of which she is also a Teacher Trainer. She is currently on the path of becoming a Yoga Therapist.

Through the years we have trained with many teachers and communities and continue to do so. Some more well known programs we have done include: CIIS CPTR, Polaris, Medicinal Mindfulness (MM) and Fluence. Seba is currently a mentor for the CIIS CPTR program and Javi is a teacher for MM Training. We are both on the board of the Santa Cruz Psychedelic Society and frequently host community integration and healing events.

In a Guided Journey Process you’ll find our style to be gentle and loving. We do not push our clients into experiences, but instead aim to encourage them to do the work they can wholeheartedly.

Most people enjoy working with both of us together, but there are instances where it may be preferable to do individual work with just one of us and we’re also open to that modality.

How can I work with you?

We offer a free consultation call to meet you and learn more about your current needs, as well as share how we could work with you. After that we do a 60-80min intake session, ideally in person. We are located in Felton, CA in the Santa Cruz Mountains. For journeys most folks from out of town rent an airbnb close by. We frequently work from people all around the SF Bay Area and beyond.
