PSYCHEDELIC SAFETY SELF-ASSESSMENT
Safety and preparedness are important to us. The safety self assessment questions we ask are not to exclude you, but to know how to best support you, should you be accepted into the session, and to also have informed consent in working with you.
Please take a few minutes to answer the following questions considering both your current state and the past 90 days.
Are you in a very vulnerable emotional or psychological state?
Do you have a personal or family history of schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar or personality disorders?
Are you taking any form of psychiatric medication?
Are you dealing with substance abuse issues?
Are you experiencing suicidality, suicidal ideation or struggling with self-harm?
Do you have any form of heart condition or abnormal blood pressure?
Do you have any medical condition that may be difficult to manage safely during a journey?
Do you feel extreme anxiety or discomfort about participating in this event or have had difficult group experiences in the past?
If you answered YES to one or more of these questions, please check-in with us before attending a circle.
BREATHWORK SAFETY
Breathwork is an ancient and powerful practice that can help expand consciousness, regulate the nervous system, and access non-verbal layers of memory and emotion stored in the body. When combined with plant medicine it can become a potent tool for deep healing journeys. However, this practice is intense and not for everyone.
We invite you to abstain from practicing breathwork if you have any of the following conditions:
High Blood Pressure (not controlled w/meds)
Cardiovascular Disease or Heart Concerns
Personal or Family History of Aneurysms
Personal History of Strokes, Seizures or TIAs
On Anticoagulants (blood thinners)
Epilepsy
Glaucoma or Detached Retina
Recent injuries or surgery
Pregnancy
* If you have Asthma you are welcome to practice, but please have your inhaler available.
Finally please consider abstaining from this practice if you have any other medical, psychiatric or physical condition which could be negatively affected by intense breathwork. When in doubt we recommend consulting with your physician.
You are always welcome to journey without the breathwork practice and you will still receive many of the benefits of a group journey experience.
